Construction SEO · Canada and the USA

Construction SEO thatwins the job.

Construction SEO puts your company in front of people at the moment they are choosing a builder. The repair and the remodel are won on Google Maps, when a homeowner types “near me”. The custom home, the addition and the commercial build are won on the project pages a buyer compares for weeks before they call. We rank contractors in Canada and the US for both, on Google and in AI answers.

We name the search. Others hide behind a percentage.

“Leads up 300%” doesn’t tell you whether a homeowner can find you. So we show the search a buyer types and where the builder ranks for it.

(02) How buyers search

Buyers search by job. Most builders rank for their name.

A homepage and one “Services” page can’t win these searches. Each type of job is its own search, with its own buyers and its own competition. Here is how often people search each month, from Google’s own estimates.

One job, one page

A kitchen, a basement and a custom home are three searches with three different buyers. Each one needs its own page, with real projects behind it.

(03) Two kinds of buyer

This week’s job. Next year’s build.

Your company wins work in two very different ways. Most construction SEO wins one and misses the other. We plan for both from day one.

Maps first

The ready buyer

“general contractor near me” · “bathroom remodel near me” · “roof repair”

How they search
On a phone, with the job already decided. They call two or three of the first companies on the map and ask for quotes.
What they look at
How close you are, whether you do their kind of job, photos of past work, what other clients say, and a phone number they can tap.
What we build
A Google Business Profile that lists every service, a page for each job in each town you serve, local mentions and a steady flow of new reviews.
Trust first

The planning buyer

“custom home builder” · “cost to finish a basement” · “commercial construction companies”

How they search
For weeks or months, across Google and AI tools, comparing builders, portfolios and budgets before anyone breaks ground.
What they look at
Finished projects like theirs, a clear process, honest cost ranges, licences and warranties, and who will actually run the job.
What we build
Project pages for your best work, a page for every type of build, and answers to the cost, timeline and permit questions buyers ask.

(04) Where jobs leak

Six places builders lose the job. Before the phone rings.

Good builders rarely lose online because of their work. They lose because Google can’t tell what they build, or where. These are the gaps we find most often on the first call.

01

One page for every service

A single “Services” page can’t rank for kitchens, basements and custom homes at once. Google shows the page that matches the search, and it won’t be that one.

02

A map listing that says too little

A profile with one broad category and no services listed gives Google little to match. The categories and services you choose shape which searches you can show up for.

03

Only your home town

Your address helps you in your own town. The towns where your best jobs are need pages of their own, with real projects from there.

04

Photos Google can’t read

A gallery of files named “IMG_4412” tells Google nothing. A project page with a named, described photo tells it what you built and where.

05

Slow on a phone

Huge photo files make pages crawl on a phone. Buyers give up before the quote form even loads.

06

No cost, no process

Planning buyers want a range and a timeline before they call. If your site won’t say, they find a builder whose site will. So do AI answers.

(05) What we do

Eight parts. One plan for your company.

Every plan includes local SEO for Google Maps, organic SEO for the normal results and AI SEO for ChatGPT and AI Overviews. We weight them to the jobs you want more of.

01

Google Business Profile and Maps

The right categories, every service listed, your service area set, real job site photos and accurate hours. Reviews are one of the signals Google weighs. So are distance, relevance, and the links and mentions pointing at your company. We work all four, and hand you a simple routine for asking happy clients at handover.

02

A page for every service

Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, custom homes, restoration and commercial builds each get a page of their own. Each one answers what buyers actually ask: what it costs, how long it takes, what permits it needs, and what happens on day one.

03

Project pages that sell

Your best finished jobs, each on its own page with the town, the scope, the timeline and the photos. Every photo gets a plain name and description so Google can read it, and the files are shrunk so the page loads fast on a phone.

04

Every town you work in

A real page for each town or city you want jobs in, with projects you have done there. Not the same page with the town name swapped, which Google ignores. This is how a builder in one town wins work in the next one over.

05

Pages for big projects

Custom homes, additions and commercial builds are bought slowly. We build pages for each type of project you want, with your process, budget ranges you are happy to share, licences, warranties and the people who run the job. These are the pages a buyer reads before they put you on a shortlist.

06

Mentions and links that count

Builder associations, suppliers, local news, home directories and community groups that mention and link to your company, with the same name, address and phone number everywhere. Under the hood, we make sure Google can read every page, and we add hidden labels that tell it what you build and where, so your details show up correctly in search.

07

AI answers

Homeowners now ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews which builder to call and what a job might cost. Clear, quotable answers, real project details and the same business details everywhere online are what those tools cite. We track where your company appears and report it every month.

08

Reporting you can read

Where you rank on the map and in search for each service and town, how many people called or asked for a quote from Google, and what we’re doing next. In plain words, every month.

Straight answers

Construction SEO, answered.

01 What is construction SEO?

Construction SEO is the work that gets your company found when someone searches for a builder, a contractor or the job they need done: on Google Maps, in the normal search results and in AI answers. It covers your Google Business Profile, a page for each service, pages for finished projects and the towns you work in, the technical health of your website, and the mentions and links from other sites that build trust.

02 How is SEO for contractors different from other industries?

Three things. Every service is its own search: a kitchen, a basement and a custom home are found by different people typing different words. The work is local, so you have to show up in every town you serve, not only the one on your address. And the jobs are big, so one extra project a month can pay for the whole year of SEO. Ads prove the value: Google estimates about $32 a click for “bathroom remodel near me” in the US.

03 How long does construction SEO take to work?

It can move fast. On March 10, Maurice and Sons in Manitoba had 18 of 19 tracked searches outside the top 100. Twenty-one days later, seven were #1 and fifteen were in the top three. Our guarantees put a clock on the rest. If you don’t see visible improvement in your key metrics within the first 20 days, we refund $200 on top of returning your payment for that period. If your qualifying keywords aren’t on the first page of Google within 60 days, we keep working for free until they are.

04 How much does construction SEO cost?

Local SEO, organic SEO, or the two together usually run between $1,497 and $5,000 a month. Organic SEO across several websites usually starts at $5,000 a month. Your number depends on how many services and towns you want to win, and how strong the builders above you are. You get it on the strategy call.

05 What keywords should a construction company target?

Start with the searches closest to a hire: the service plus “near me” or your town. Google estimates 90,500 searches a month for “bathroom remodel near me” in the US and 4,400 for “kitchen renovation near me” in Canada. Then the planning searches for bigger jobs, like “custom home builder” with your city, and cost questions such as “cost to finish a basement”. We map every service you sell against every town you serve, and build in order of what pays.

06 Can you rank my company for “general contractor near me”?

That search is won on Google Maps, close to the person searching. We build your listing, a page for each service and your local signals so you show up across the towns you work in. R.A. Woodall Roofing in Williamsburg, Virginia shows up on Google Maps and first in the normal results for “roofing contractor Williamsburg VA”, on the same screen.

07 Which kinds of construction companies do you work with?

General contractors, custom home builders, renovation and remodeling companies, restoration contractors, roofers, landscape and hardscape builders, HVAC and other trades, and commercial builders. Maurice and Sons ranks #1 for “log home restoration Manitoba”, Angkorscape ranks #1 for “landscape construction Sammamish”, and R.A. Woodall Roofing ranks first for “roofing contractor Williamsburg VA”.

08 Do you work with commercial construction companies?

Yes. Commercial buyers, like developers, property managers and business owners, search by project type and city, and they compare portfolios before they ever call. We build a page for each type of project you take on, case pages for finished builds, and the trust signals a buyer checks before they put you on a bid list.

09 We work across a whole region. Can you rank us in every town?

Yes, with a real page for each town you want work in, backed by projects you have done there. Google Maps favours businesses close to the person searching, so the towns further out are won with those pages and with mentions from local sites. Maurice and Sons ranks for province-wide searches like “log home restoration Manitoba”.

10 How much do reviews matter for contractors?

Reviews are one of the signals Google weighs for local rankings. The others include how close you are to the person searching, how well your listing and pages match the job they searched for, and how often other trusted sites mention and link to your company. We give you a simple routine for asking happy clients at handover, and we work on every other signal at the same time.

11 Do directory sites like Houzz, HomeStars or Angi help my rankings?

A listing on a home directory or your local builder association is a mention Google can read, as long as your name, address and phone number match everywhere. We claim and clean up the ones that matter in your market. They help your own site rank, but they don’t replace it: on their pages, you sit right next to your competitors.

12 Do project photos help SEO?

Yes, when Google can read them. Each finished job gets its own page with the town, the scope and the photos, and every photo gets a plain name and description. We also shrink the files so the page loads fast on a phone, because that is where most homeowners look.

13 Will you get my company into ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews?

AI SEO is included in every plan. Clear service pages, real project details and the same business details everywhere online are what AI tools quote and cite. Google’s AI answer names Maurice and Sons first for “log home restoration Manitoba”, and names and cites Angkorscape for luxury landscape design in Seattle. We track where your company appears in AI answers and report it to you every month.

14 Is SEO or Google Ads better for a construction company?

Ads buy a click today. Google estimates an average of about $32 a click for “bathroom remodel near me” and $18 for “kitchen remodel near me” in the US. SEO earns the visit without paying for each click, and it keeps working after the budget stops. Many contractors run both and lean more on SEO as rankings grow.

15 Do you work with construction companies in Canada and the US?

Yes. We rank builders and contractors across Canada and the United States. The results on this page come from Manitoba, Virginia and Washington.

16 Which construction companies do you take on?

Established companies doing $20,000 a month or more. We take on 15 new clients a month, so every one of them gets the work done properly.

17 Am I locked into a long contract?

No. There are no long-term contracts. Results keep you here, not paperwork.
